Apex Corse - the first Formula SAE team of the University of Palermo - officially announces its participation in the Italian round of Formula SAE, the international engineering competition for university students.

The team’s official debut will take place from September 2 to 6, 2026, at the Varano de’ Melegari Circuit, a track dedicated to Formula 1 driver Riccardo Paletti, located in the heart of Italy’s Motor Valley.

This milestone represents a significant achievement in the history of Apex Corse and in the team’s development. The team would like to take this opportunity to thank its Faculty Advisors and all sponsors for their continuous support throughout the design and development phases of the race car.

“Taking part in the competition at the Varano Circuit this year is not only a great honor, but also the tangible result of work that has been ongoing for the past three years. I am proud of everything we are doing and of how we are growing together to become better professionals. I would like to thank all the people I work with every day - individuals who share the same passion and the same goal. One thing teamwork has taught me is the ability to look at the same problem from different perspectives, discovering aspects that years of studying alone had not allowed me to notice.”

Giorgio Scarpaci, Powertrain Division Manager of Apex Corse
